This day of shooting on
February the 16th was only brief and we did not even need to call Ebony to
re-film. We realised we really did not like many of the shots in the bedroom
scene as they were too shaky, unfocused, had continuity errors and overall
looked very unprofessional so we went back to re-film those panning shots.
Additionally, we did not like how the character's room did not appear like she
lived in it so we decided to remove the blue rug from beneath all the props
that we had tracking shots over. We thought this would eliminate any evidence
that a boy actually lives in this room.
As before, we
were having difficulty filming the dropping of the cigarette packet to reveal
the title "ROADS" on it as it would not fall naturally into the
position we wanted it to. The issue with using artificial lighting as well made
us have strong shadows and it often looked unrealistic. To solve this problem
we changed our own position at which we were standing to film in order to
remove any possibility of shadow and it seemed to
work.
After a couple
hours, we seemed to have got all the shots we needed to edit our second
version of the film opening.
