Credits are an essential
part of a film opening and we wanted to make ours as interesting as possible
for our audience. We were also keen to display them in objects that will convey the comical
tone of the film and certain information about the main character.
I was not aware of the
conventions of film credits so I decided to research some and note down the
order that people involved in the film were usually placed in the credits. The
list below seemed to be the most common order for a credit sequence:

- PRODUCTION COMPANY presents (distributor)
- a PRODUCTION COMPANY production (producer)
- a FILMMAKER film
- Film Title
- Lead Cast
- Supporting Cast
- Casting Director
- Music Composer
- Costume Designer
- Associate Producers
- Editors
- Production Designer
- Director of Photography
- Executive Producer
- Producer
- Writers
- Director
We have decided to order
our credits in the conventional way but we have changed it a little as we have
such a small cast for our opening and our work is an equally shared effort for
editing, finding music, directing, casting, etc.:
1. Akhtar Productions presents - Wall
2. An Akhtar Film- Book or chocolate bar packet on bedside table
3. “Roads”- Cigarette packet
4. Ebony Paice – T-shirt
5. Ben Bradley – Pill pot
6. Produced and Directed by
7. Charlotte Shaw- Pizza box
8. Rida Akhtar- School Book
9. Lucy Gaston- Skins Packet
10. and Lizzie Bradley- Cocaine on table
For our
improved storyboard, we decided to go with a less conventional
approach to credit order as we felt it flowed better with the
narrative of the opening and demonstrates the disorganisation in the main
character's life, which is a more common choice for independent,
niche audience films.
1. Directed by Charlotte Shaw- college ID card
2. Lucy Gaston- text message
3. Lizzie Bradley- school book
4. Rida Akhtar- school folder
5. Starring Ebony Paice- band t-shirt
6. Co-starring- Ben Bradley, Brian Bradley and
Ethan Simpson- Knickers label
7. An Akhtar Film Presents- Lip stick on mirror
8. ROADS- Toilet door
