Below is some test footage
for our film opening. It ensured that we as a group had the same vision and it
would make us aware of some potential challenges that we may face when it comes
to the actual planned day of shooting. We have also evaluated the footage and
identified all the areas we want to improve on, so we can prepare for them.
We were aware that comedies
have particular conventions when it comes to the shots that are filmed. To get
a better idea of what shots conform the best to the comedy films, we decided to
film a range of different zooms and positioning of the frame and chose from
them which one would be the most suitable.
We were also keen on having
the main character standout in some way to make her dominant in the shot so it
is clear to the audience that she is the main character and the story focuses
on her. Therefore we put her in the centre of the frame but with the bench in
the rule of thirds.
